what I have been working on
Early this year I started an artist collective “Encuentros de Prácticas Interdisciplinarias” EPi (Gatherings of Interdisciplinary practices). We are still at an early stage but I'm happy to share this new endeavor. So far these weekly encounters are keeping me and a group of colleague artists exploring ways to share our practices as we build a community.
Every Saturday, in Oaxaca, Mexico at Casa Xico, Espacio Interdisciplinario a creative hub in downtown Oaxaca. we - a group of interdisciplinary artists - meet in person to share our artistic practices, current projects, working methods, pedagogies of multiple disciplines or to pose art and art making questions.
In this group we aim to be transparent about our process, doubts and even fears as we engage in our artistic work. We aim to work in a horizontal way, there are no teachers or students, we are all learners.
The sharing is dynamic with exercises of diverse kinds, many from our own practices, others from other artists who we have learned from along our careers, and some other exercises we make them up as we go.
